RULES OF SHARES
- Be EARLY for your audition time.
- Please be respectful to all SHARES guests and volunteers.
- If you cannot make your audition time, notify Armando McClain no less than 24 hours before your scheduled time. Any less will be considered a missed audition.
- If you do not show up to two (2) of your scheduled audition slots, you will be excused from the SHARES program and will not be refunded.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: How do I sign up for an audition?
A: A week (or more) before a guest arrives, you’ll get an email from the SHARES team to inform you of who’s coming to town. You can then visit the guest’s profile page to sign-up. Just click on your desired time slot, fill out the requested information, and voila! You’ll automatically get a confirmation email and will also receive a reminder email one day before you audition. Sign-ups will close 48 hours prior to the guest’s first audition date.
Q: Do auditions ever get filled up?
A: Audition slots are on a first-come, first-served basis and historically fill up really quickly. Unfortunately, we have more actors than we do available slots. Therefore, we encourage you to sign-up as soon as you can! Please sign up chronologically and do not skip slots. If there’s a big gap of time between two auditions, you may be asked to change your time to accommodate our guests.
Q: How long is each audition?
A: Auditions are in increments of seven minutes. A volunteer timekeeper will be onsite to check you in and usher you out.
Q: What do we do once we get in the room?
A: Visit the guest’s profile page to see if they are requesting something specific. Otherwise, you can just chat, do a contemporary piece, Shakespeare, a song, a dance — really ANYTHING you would like. Figure out how you can best market yourself to each particular guest.
Q: Do we need to bring headshots/resumes?
A: YES. We highly recommend that you provide a hard-copy of your headshot and resume at your meeting. As a bonus for this year’s SHARES participants, we will post your headshot and resume on this website so guests can refer back to here, too.
Q: Do I have to sign up for every guest that comes through SHARES?
A: No. Sign up for as many or as few meetings as you’d like. If you do want to meet with a guest, sign-up quickly because slots are always limited.
